Educational Consultant

In Italy, over 50% of students make the wrong degree choice. You can help.

As an Educational Consultant, you'll work closely with students and families, providing essential guidance on educational choices and career paths.  In just a handful of hours, you'll be able to dramatically change a student's life.

  • Can they defeat the obstacles standing in the way of their goals?

  • Can you assemble a team that enables them to achieve their objectives?

The educational consultant is the first point of contact of every family, and manages each student's educational journey with Valdo Academics.

 

Key responsibilities:

 ​

Educational Consulting & Management:

  • Advise families on strategic educational decisions.

  • Manage the educational journeys of students with learning difficulties and mental health challenges.

  • Conduct initial consultations and onboard new clients. Approve tutoring programmes

  • Monitor tutoring progress, identify issues, and intervene as needed.

  • Provide weekly updates to the director.

  • Coordinate with partner schools to enhance tutoring interventions.

1:1 Orientation guidance

  • Deliver our 1:1 orientation programmes with students

  • Become the go-to career guidance counsellor for our partner schools

  • Discover educational opportunities in Europe and North America

Family Guidance & Course onboarding:

  • Clarify the intricacies of the IB Diploma and university applications.

  • Develop individualized timelines for university preparation.

  • Manage the sales and onboarding process for families who need to enroll in our programmes.

Group Courses Management:

  • Organize group courses for key tests and university applications.

  • Recruit tutors, manage student enrollment, and provide feedback to families.

Impact:

  • Transform Students' Lives: Guide students through critical academic decisions, helping them build confidence and achieve their dreams.

  • Support Parents: Assist parents in navigating complex educational landscapes.

  • Champion Special Needs Students: Partner with professionals to support students with learning disorders and mental health issues.

 

Pay, benefit, and details

Salary & Benefits:

  • RAL (gross annual payment) €32.000-€26.000 depending on experience

  • Bonus of up to 15% of RAL (€4.8k-€3.9k) based on performance

  • "Contratto a tempo indeterminato" if you pass the trial period. 

  • Half a day off, every week

  • 25 days of holiday, on top of national holidays and the reduced working week

Work Schedule:

  • You will have a lot of autonomy in deciding your own schedule, provided you meet the necessary touchpoints with the team and our clients, and you work 8hs per day. 

  • An example schedule is as follows: 

    • 10:00 AM login

    • 10:30 AM touchbase with the director

    • 13:30 PM lunch break. Some people take 1h, some people take 3hs.

    • You then work the remaining hours

  • Most of the team interactions occur in the morning. Most of the client interactions occur in the afternoon.

Location:

  • Fully online, allowing flexibility to work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.

  • Every year, there will be some touchbases with the team, in Cagliari, Sardinia where the company has its headquarters.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

  • Experience: 2+ years in career/university guidance, IB tutoring/teaching, or a teaching qualification.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, proficiency in online tools, international mindset, and teamwork attitude.

  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Italian

  • Fiscal residency in Italy (or willingness to relocate to Italy)

Progression

​You may progress in two "directions" within the company
 

  • Vertically: if you enjoy holding direct client-facing responsibilities, you will manage more delicate situations​, whether that involves more vulnerable students, or more delicate clients for the company. We will be ready to invest in your development if that is your wish. For instance, we have paid postgraduate qualifications for many of our educational consultants in the past, including College Counselor qualifications, as well as Masters Degree in Counselling.

  • Horizontally: if you enjoy coordinating multiple people and meeting clients and students less often, you will be able to grow in your development by coordinating the launch of our new products. Historically, we have launched a new course or service every four months... You will certainly keep busy!

Administrator​

Transform Administrative Processes, Enhance Student Success

As an Administrator at Valdo Academics, you will ensure the smooth functioning of our educational services, driving efficiency and effectiveness across various administrative processes. This will place you on a steep learning curve, learning about labour regulations, tax, and even AI and systems mnagement. Ultimately, your work will drive a quality experience for customers, and enable our team to focus on delivering top-notch educational experiences.​

 

 

Key Responsibilities

​​

Accounting:

  • Handle incoming and outgoing invoices and payments to tutors and suppliers.

  • Recover outstanding payments from clients while maintaining a flexible and kind approach towards debtors.

  • Develop automation processes for efficient administrative management.

  • Liaise with accountants and labor consultants for compliance.

  • Learn about tax law and regulations, to oversee the company's compliance

Analytics:

  • Compile and analyze monthly financial transactions for management review.

  • Monitor and present the company's monthly and quarterly financial health, presenting to the Board of Directors

  • Analyze team performance by studying client portfolios, measuring family satisfaction, and program success.

Tutor Management:

  • Onboard new tutors, and manage relationships with 270 freelancers based in over 60 countries

  • Verify tutors have no pending charges to protect minors.

  • Learn about labour laws and oversee contracting 

Tutoring Pipeline Management:

  • Analyze client tutoring requests and match them with suitable tutors.

  • Ensure first tutoring lessons are conducted promptly and with positive feedback

  • Flag tutoring jobs to the attention of the client managers to solve crises

Client Administration:

  • Monitor and respond to client communications via WhatsApp and email.

  • Schedule appointments and manage daily communications.

  • Check and manage PEC communications promptly.

Digitalization and Automation:

  • Identify administrative processes for automation.

  • Learn about AI implementation in systems to boost quality and reach of client management practice

  • Learn how to use automation tools such as Zapier or custom coding.

Impact:

  • Efficiency and Innovation: Streamline operations with advanced technology.

  • Financial Oversight: Ensure financial health and strategic growth.

  • Team Support: Facilitate smooth operations and effective tutor management.

  • Languages: Proficiency in Italian and English preferred.

  • Fiscal residency in Italy.
